The Monkey and the Crocodile Short Story

Once, in a big forest, there was a playful monkey named Miko. Miko loved swinging from tree to tree and having fun with his friends. One day, he met a crocodile named Clyde who lived in a nearby river.

Miko and Clyde became good friends, sharing stories and laughs. Clyde started wanting the tasty red berries that Miko ate every day. Clyde asked if he could have some, and kind Miko agreed to share.

Every day, Miko threw the ripest berries to Clyde in the river, and they were both happy. But Clyde’s wife, Cynthia, got jealous and wanted the berries too. She came up with a sneaky plan and asked Clyde to bring her Miko’s heart, thinking it would be the best part.

Clyde felt torn between his friend Miko and his wife’s request. He decided to be honest with Miko and told him about Cynthia’s plan. Miko, shocked and sad, knew he had to be clever to outsmart the crocodile.

Thinking quickly, Miko told Clyde that he left his heart in a tree hollow. Clyde believed him and went to look. Miko used this chance to escape, teaching everyone about the importance of trust and honesty.

The moral of the story is: Good friendships are based on trust and being truthful. Greed and deceit can harm even strong friendships.
