6 Akbar Birbal Ke Kisse in English with Moral
1st Story: Joru Ka Gulam
Once upon a time, King Akbar and Birbal were sitting in the court discussing some important matters. Then Birbal said to Akbar, “I think most of the men are slaves of Joru and live in fear of their wives.” The king did not like this statement of Birbal at all. He opposed this.
On this, Birbal also became adamant on getting his point across. He told the king that he could prove his point. But, for this the king will have to issue an order among the subjects. The order was that any man who was found to be afraid of his wife would have to submit a hen to the court. The king agreed to Birbal’s suggestion.
The very next day, an order was made among the people that if it was proved that a man was afraid of his wife, then he would have to come to the court and deposit a hen with Birbal. What happened next, within no time a lot of chickens gathered near Birbal and hundreds of chickens started roaming in the garden of the palace.
Now Birbal reached the king and said, “Maharaj! “There are enough chickens in the palace to open a hen house, so you can withdraw this order now.” But, the king did not take this matter seriously and the number of chickens in the palace gradually started increasing.
When King Akbar did not agree with Birbal even after so many chickens had gathered in the palace, Birbal came up with a new solution to prove his point. One day Birbal went to the king and said, “Maharaj! I have heard that a very beautiful princess lives in the neighboring kingdom. If you want, can I come there to confirm your relationship?”
On hearing this the king was shocked and said, “Birbal! What kind of things are you saying? There are already two queens present in the palace. If they even get a clue about this, I will not be well.”
Hearing this, Birbal replied resoundingly, “Come on Maharaj, then you also deposit two chickens with me.”
The king felt ashamed after hearing such a reply from Birbal and immediately withdrew his order.

You give every responsibility only to Birbal and his advice is taken in every work. It means that you consider us unworthy. But, it is not so, we are also as capable as Birbal.”
Maharaj was very fond of Birbal. He did not want to hear anything against him, but he came up with a solution so as not to disappoint the ministers. He told them, “I want to answer a question from all of you. But, keep in mind that if you people are unable to answer this, then you all will be sentenced to death.”
The courtiers hesitated and said to the king, “Okay…okay, king! We accept your condition, but first you ask questions.”
The king asked, “What is the biggest thing in the world?”
Hearing this question, all the ministers started looking at each other. Seeing his condition, Maharaj said, “Remember that the answer to this question should be accurate. “I don’t want any awkward answers.”
On this the ministers asked the king for a few days’ time to answer this question. The king also agreed to this.
After coming out of the palace, all the ministers started searching for the answer to this question. The first one said that the biggest thing in the world is God, while the second one said that the biggest thing in the world is hunger. The third rejected the answers of both and said that God is not a thing and hunger can also be tolerated. Therefore the answer to the king’s question is neither of these.
Slowly time passed and all the days taken for granted also passed. Still, when the king did not get an answer to the question asked, all the ministers started fearing for their lives. Finding no other solution, they all reached Birbal and told him their entire story. Birbal was already aware of this. He told them, “I can save your life, but you have to do as I say.” Everyone agreed to Birbal’s words.
The very next day Birbal arranged for a palanquin. He gave the task of lifting the palanquin to two ministers, got the third to hold his hookah and the fourth to lift his shoes and himself sat in the palanquin. Then he signaled them all to move towards the king’s palace.
When everyone reached the court with Birbal, the king was surprised to see this scene. Before he could ask Birbal anything, Birbal himself said to the king, “Maharaj! The biggest thing in the world is ‘thunder’. It is because of their need that all of them have lifted my palanquin and brought it here.”
Hearing this, the king could not stop smiling and all the ministers stood with their heads bowed in shame.

3rd Story: Green Horse
One evening King Akbar went out for a walk in his royal garden with his beloved Birbal. That garden was very magnificent. There was greenery all around and the sweet fragrance of flowers was making the atmosphere even more beautiful.
In such a situation, God knows what came to the king’s mind that he said to Birbal, “Birbal! We wish to roam around in this lush green garden sitting on a green horse. Therefore, I order you to arrange a green horse for us within seven days. And if you fail to fulfill this order, then you should never show me your face.”
Both the king and Birbal were aware that till date there has been no green horse in the world. Still the king wanted Birbal to accept his defeat in some matter. That is why he gave such orders to Birbal. But Birbal was also very clever. He knew very well what the king wanted from him. Therefore, he too kept roaming here and there for seven days under the pretext of finding a horse.
On the eighth day, Birbal arrived in front of the king in the court and said, “Maharaj! As per your order, I have arranged for a green horse for you. But his owner has two conditions.”
The king curiously asked about both the conditions. Then Birbal replied, “The first condition is that you have to go yourself to bring that green horse.” The king agreed to this condition.
Then he asked about the second condition. Then Birbal said, “The second condition of the owner of the horse is that you have to choose any day other than the seven days of the week to go to get the horse.”
Hearing this the king started looking at Birbal with surprise. Then Birbal replied very easily, “Maharaj! The owner of the horse says that in order to get the special green colored horse, he has to accept these special conditions.”
King Akbar became happy after hearing this clever talk of Birbal and agreed that it is indeed a very difficult task to make Birbal accept his defeat.

4th Story: Jab Birbal Bachcha Bana
Once upon a time, Birbal was late in coming to the court. King Akbar was eagerly waiting for Birbal. As soon as Birbal reached the court, Akbar asked him the reason for the delay. Birbal started saying that today when he was leaving the house, his small children stopped him and insisted on not going anywhere. Somehow, after convincing the children, there was a delay in leaving.

5th Story : Khane Ke Baad Letna
It was afternoon, King Akbar was sitting in his court and thinking about something. Suddenly he remembered something said by Birbal. He remembered that once Birbal had told him a saying, which was something like this – Lying down after eating and running away after killing is the sign of a mature man.
The king started thinking, “It is afternoon now. Surely Birbal would be getting ready to sleep after eating. Let us prove him wrong today.” Thinking this, he ordered a servant to convey the message to Birbal to be present in the court at this very moment.
Birbal had just finished eating when the servant came to Birbal with the king’s order. Birbal understood very well the king’s intentions behind the order. He said to the servant, “You wait for a while. I will change my clothes and come with you.”

6th Story: Sabse Bada Hathiyar
Apart from work, Emperor Akbar used to talk to Birbal about many things. While sitting like this, one day the king asked Birbal that according to you, which is the biggest weapon in this world?
In response to this, Birbal said that there can be no bigger weapon in the world than self-confidence. Akbar did not understand this, but still he did not say anything. It occurred to him that this matter would be examined when the time came.
A few days later, an elephant went out of control in the state. After finding out, I realized that he had gone mad. The employees had tied him with chains. As soon as the news of this reached the king, he directly told the mahout to loosen the elephant’s chains whenever he saw Birbal coming.
The mahout was surprised to hear this, but it was the king’s order, so he bowed his head and went away.
Now Akbar asked Birbal to go to the mahout. The mahout also followed the king’s order and freed the elephant from the chains when he saw Birbal coming. Birbal was not aware of this, so he was walking comfortably. Then his eyes fell on the trumpeting elephant. As soon as they saw that the elephant was coming towards them. He could not understand anything.
After some time, it occurred to him that the king might have ordered to leave this elephant behind me only to test my confidence.
