Magarmach Aur Bandar Ki Kahani in English
One was a dense forest, where animals lived with each other very lovingly. There was a very beautiful and big pond in the middle of that forest. A crocodile lived in that pond. There were many fruit trees around the pond. A monkey lived on one of those trees. Monkey and crocodile were very good friends of each other.
The monkey used to eat sweet and tasty fruits from the tree and also gave them to his friend the crocodile. The monkey took special care of his friend, the crocodile and the crocodile also carried him on his back and carried him around the pond.
Days passed and their friendship deepened. Whatever fruits the monkey gave to the crocodile, the crocodile also fed some of those fruits to his wife. Both of them used to eat fruits with great relish.
After a long time, the monkey’s wife said that the monkey always eats delicious fruits. Just imagine how delicious his liver will be. She started insisting to the crocodile that she had to eat the monkey’s heart.
The crocodile tried to convince her, but she did not agree and she became angry with the crocodile. Now the crocodile had to say yes even though he did not want to. He said that he would bring the monkey to his cave the next day, then take out its heart and eat it. After this Magar’s wife agreed.
Like every day, the monkey started waiting for the crocodile with delicious fruits. After some time the crocodile also came and both of them ate the fruits together. The crocodile said, friend, today your sister-in-law wants to meet you. Come on, my house is on the other side of the pond, let’s go there today.
The monkey immediately agreed and jumped and sat on the crocodile’s back. But he started moving towards his cave with it. As soon as both of them reached the middle of the pond, the crocodile said, “Friend, today your sister-in-law wishes to eat your heart.” Saying this he told the whole story.
Hearing this, the monkey started thinking and said, “Friend, why didn’t you tell me this earlier?” But asked why friend, what happened? The monkey said that I have left my heart on the tree. If you take me back, I will bring my heart with me.
But he got influenced by the monkey’s words and came back to the shore. As soon as both of them reached the shore, the monkey quickly climbed the tree and said, “You fool, don’t you know that the heart is inside us only?” I always thought about your welfare and you wanted to eat me only. What kind of friendship is this of yours? Go away from here.
But he felt very ashamed of his actions and apologized to the monkey, but now the monkey was not going to listen to him.
