McKinsey & Company is a global management consulting firm based in New York City. The firm was founded by James O. McKinsey and Frederick W. Taylor in 1926 as McKinsey & Company, after which it changed its name to McKinsey Global Institute in 2002; it also underwent several other changes during this period, becoming simply “McKinsey” when it separated from the parent company’s legal structure under an agreement signed between both entities on 1 March 2006.

Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) is a global consulting firm, which has offices in all major cities of India. It offers services like strategy and business transformation, private equity, technology and innovation consulting to companies or organizations. The company was founded by Bruce Henderson who later joined the US Army during World War II as an engineer officer with the rank of captain. He then went back to Harvard Business School where he received his MBA degree in 1949.

In 1951 when BCG was founded by Bruce Henderson they had two partners namely Bill Baines & Bill Sleeping who were based out of London but later moved their headquarters to New York City where they remained until 2016 when they merged with McKinsey & Company becoming one entity called “McKinsey Global Institute (MGI)”.

Bain & Company is a global consulting firm and one of the oldest companies in its field. It was founded by Bill Bain, who had worked with Robert McNamara at the Ford Foundation and then joined McKinsey & Company in 1960 where he helped to form what would eventually become Bain & Company.
